Please give a short biography of the character:
Born on May 16, 1894 in Lichterfelde to a wealthy family. Gunther lived a life of luxury, but was unsatisfied with his allotment in life. He craved adventure, and to be a part of something larger than himself. In 1912, Gunther enrolled in the Royal Prussian Main Cadet Institute near his hometown of Lichtertfelde. During his time at the Institute, the Great War broke out. Gunther's resolve to become an officer was strengthened, and he elected to undergo training to become a cavalry officer.
Gunther finished his training at the academy in 1915, and was assigned to the 2nd Westphalian Hussar Regiment No. 11. Gunther left to the front with a sense of patriotism and bravery, this quickly changed once he reached the front. The bloodshed of the eastern front destroyed Gunther’s ideas of a great adventure in war. After the armistice, Gunther returned home. His ideas of adventure long gone, Gunther found his new calling in life. He would try his best to prevent Germany from marching into another senseless war.
